Registrar Vacancy at the University of Medical Sciences

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Registrar
 
DUTIES
The Registrar is the chief administrative office of the university and the secretary to the council, the senate, congregation and convocation. 

The registrar is responsible to the vice chancellor for trhe day to day administration of the university except for financial matters which is the responsiblity of the bursar
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidate must possess a good first degreee at least second class lower from a recognized university.

Candidate must have at least 15 years relevant post qualification experience within the administrative cadre of a university or a tertiary research institution of comparable status and must have spend at least 3 years as a deputy registrar in the administration of a univeristy or a tertiary research institution of comparable status

Candidates must possess a masters degree and must be a member of a recognized professional body (ANUPA, NIM, IPMAN, AUA)
Candidate must not be older than 60 years as as the date of publication and must enjoy good physical and mental health
Possession of additional qualifications will be an added advantage
 
MODE OF APPLICATION
Interested applicants are requested to submit 25 copies of the following
Applicants  detailed CV duly signed and dated by the applicant. The CV must contain the candidates name in full surname in block letters, position applied for; place and date of birth; nationality; state of origin; permanent home address and postal address; telephone number and email address; marital status; number and ages of children; institutions attended and academic qualifications with dates degrees/certificates with classes/levels (copies of certificates and credentials must be enlosed); work and administrative experience (including details of current and previous posts with dates); academic distinctions and awards; membership of professional bodies;other relevant information; and the names and addresses of three referees. Candidates referees must forward reference on the candidates directly to the vice chancellor in a sealed envelope marked 'CONFIDENTIAL -REFERENCE/ POST OF REGISTRAR'. The references must include a confidential report on the candidates character, academic and professional competence. The references must be received before the closing date for applications
 
b) 25 Copies of candidates statement of purpose. The statment must not be more than 300 words
 
All applications and reference letters should be submitted under confidential cover in an envelope duly marked 'APPLICATION/POST OF REGISTRAR and must reach the vice chancellors office, university of medical sciences, Medical village, laje road, ondo city, nigeria, not later than six weeks from the date of this publication. Electronic copy of the application, CV, supporting documents/ credentials, statement of purpose MUST ALSO be submitted in PDF format only to recruitment@unimed.edu.ng before the closing date
 
Kindly note that this is in addition to the submission of the 25 hard copies. The subject of the email should read APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF REGISTRAR. Electronic copies of referencew will not be accepted
