MEDICAL OFFICER, GL.12

Requirements:
Candidate must possess a degree in Medicine from a recognized University and must have been registered with the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). In addition, candidate must have completed the compulsory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) scheme at the time the application. He/she must possess a minimum of three years in that specialty plus any other relating specialties.

Duties:
Carrying out General Medical duties in a Primary Health Care Centre, practicing in area of specialty under supervision and performing such other related duties as may be assigned.

STAFF NURSE/STAFF MIDWIFE GL.07

Candidate must possess the NRN or the NRM or their equivalent and must have been duly registered with the Nursing & Midwife Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or the Midwives Board of Nigeria plus at least two years post- qualification cognate experience.

Duties:
Undertaking nursing care of patients in the Local Government Health Institutions. Assisting Doctors in the operating theatres and other Departments in the Local Government Health Institutions. Feeding patients and undertaking laundry care as well as other duties as assigned.

STAFF NURSING OFFICER, GL.08

Candidate must possess a recognized BSc. Nursing plus the registration of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) plus at least two years post registration cognate experience.

Duties:

Supervising junior staff. Assisting in the control of communicable diseases and eradication of infections by way of immunization. Maintaining accurate health records for statistical data.

SENIOR PHARMACIST GL.10

Candidate must possess a degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification registered by Pharmacist Council of Nigeria. In addition, candidate must have completed the compulsory National Youth Service (NYSC) scheme at the time of the application and at least 3years post registration cognate experience.

Duties:
Taking charge of the preparation of certain sterile products as transfusion solutions, dye drops and ointments, giving advice on the issue of certain license under the Pharmacy Law, taking charge of the activities of a Zonal Medical Stores and any other duties as may be assigned.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GL.07

Candidate who has completed the prescribed three years’ training programme at the School of Health Technology. The subject of study are as approved by the Pharmacist Board of Nigeria.

Duties:

Dispensing prescribed drugs under the supervision of a Pharmacist or superior Pharmacy Technician, assisting the Pharmacist in keeping proper record of drugs issued from the central store, maintaining and cleaning the Pharmacy and pharmacy equipment, and any other duty assigned.

HIGHER PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GL.08\
Candidate who has completed the prescribed three years’ training programme at the School of Health Technology 

Duties:
Assisting the Pharmacist in the preparation of stock mixtures, lotions and syrups keeping adequate and proper records. Maintaining and cleaning the Pharmacy and pharmacy equipments. Performing such other related duties that may be assigned.

PRINCIPAL PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GL.10

Candidate who has completed the prescribed three years’ training programme at the School of Health Technology and obtained the registration of the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria.

Duties:
Preparing simple dilution of stock mixtures for use in Primary Health Care Centre/Dispensaries, control and supervising of subordinate staff and performing such other related duties as may be assigned.

COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION WOKER (CHEW) GL.07

Candidate possessing West African School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate with four credit passes at one sitting or five credit passes at two sitting and who has successfully completed a three-year training in a recognized Institution and obtained the registration of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria.
Duties:
Familiarizing with target population and health service facilities within the Community, initiating preliminary contract with community Leaders on Health matters, assisting in collecting community Health Matters; participating in Primary Health Care House Numbering and placement of Home-based Records, treating minor ailments using the standing orders, conducting simple laboratory test; dressing uncomplicated wounds and giving immunization.Carrying out incision and drainage, giving Family Planning Counselling and Services as well as any other duty assigned.

COMMUNITY HEALTH OFFICERS CHO) II GL. 08

Candidate must possess a degree in Community Health from a recognized University and has been registered by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria. In addition, candidate must have completed the compulsory National Youth Service (NYSC) scheme at the time the application.

Duties:
Supervising Mobilisation of Community for Health action, facilitating effective functioning of the Community Health Development Committee, participating in primary health care house numbering and placement of home-base records, assisting in the training of subordinate staff, undertaking home visits and outreach programmes, taking charge og nutrition, family planning clinic, ORT Units and Mobile Clinic and other duties as may be assigned.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN GL.07
Candidate must possess West African School Certificate/Senior Secondary School Certificate and must have successfully completed a three-year training in a recognized Institution and obtained the Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate registrable with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Duties:
Review and evaluate results and reports from all the centers, take charge of all laboratory activities in a special center, promote peaceful co-existence of all the health workers and prevent professional rivalry, maintain good relationship with stakeholders, establish the use of Standard Operating Procedures by the staff, carry out Medical Laboratory investigation/test, preparation of Stains/Culture of sample, perform Medical Laboratory routine test and perform other related duties.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST GL.08

Candidate must possess Associate Membership of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologist (ATMLT), of Nigeria. West African School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate plus the National Diploma of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (obtained after four years course) and the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria for Health Technologists,

Duties:
Review and evaluate results and reports from all the centres, take charge of all Laboratory activities in a specific centre, coordinate the activities of Medical Laboratory Technicians, train retraining of the officers/subordinates on good Laboratory practice for better service delivery and other duties as may be assigned.

MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN GL.07

Candidate must possess Associate Membership of the Association of Medical Records Technicians, Associate Membership of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Certificate of Registration of Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology for Technician Cadres after successful completion of the prescribed three years’ training programme.

Duties
Assisting in the arrangement of the Medical Records, Organizing, classifying and taking custody of Medical Records, collating and compiling Medical Statistics and any other duty as may be assigned.

HIGHER MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN GL.08
Candidate must have successfully completed 3-year training in a recognized Institution and obtained the registration of the Institute Medical Laboratory of Nigeria for Technician Cadre. Candidate must possess a first degree or a Higher National Diploma must have completed the compulsory National Youth Service at of submission of the application. Also Associate Membership of the Association of Medical Records Technicians. Associate Membership of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators. Certificate of Registration of Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology for Technician Cadres after successful completion of the prescribed three years’ training programme.

Duties:
Arrangement and managing Medical Records, producing an enlarged record of all the social, demographic, occupational and other medically related factors concerning the patient’s normal environment and past medical problems, assisting in the training of junior staff and any other duty as may be assigned.
