Job Summary
The Stabilization Care Officer will be based in Dutse, Jigawa State and will be reporting to the State Technical Advisor. He/she will be in charge of coordination between different departments and authorities i.e. partners, local government areas, state ministry of health and hospitals. The Stabilization Care Officer will also be in charge of building the capacity of the ministry of health staff in state local government levels on CMAM In-Patient care. He/she will work closely with the health workers in hospitals, health facilities and Action Against Hunger team for an effective follow up on children discharged from the hospitals to the health facilities for better continuation of the CMAM treatment.  He/she will also conduct regular monitoring and supervisions in the respective hospitals in order to ensure the quality of the CMAM In-Patient services.


The successful candidate will have;
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing, medical related or primary health care.
  • Minimum of one year experience in CMAM programing and inpatient nutrition. 
  • Proficient training in adult education/learning.
  • The ability to adhere to medical codes of conduct, patient confidentiality and child protection.
  • High level of self-discipline, time management, self-motivation and transparency.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervisions and meet deadlines of program objectives.
  • Adequate coaching/mentoring and report writing skills.
  • The ability to network effectively with local representatives of international aid organizations for exchange       of information.
  • Good interpersonal skills (communication, community participation approach, team player).
  • Experience in working in Northern Nigeria and well integrated into local community.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Hausa.
