Position: First Responders

General
The ALS ambulance is piloted by a first responder. The first responder shall have training and relevant experience to allow him or her to handle the ambulance and drive according to existing road regulations while deploying first aid skills as at when indicated.

Crendentials

  • Minimal requirements for First responders
  • HND/BSC in health humanities and relevant subjects
  • Copy of First Aid/BLS/Basic Ambulance Assistance certificates
Other Requirements:-Minimum Requirements:
  • High degree of personal integrity and responsibility.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment and common sense with a thorough understanding of the principles of emergency medical care at the first aid level.
  • Ability to work efficiently and interact in a constructive and professional manner with other employees, a partner, public safety personnel, medical staff, and other emergency medical service members.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, customers, clients, family members, bystanders, and the general public in such a manner as to reflect credible professionalism.
  • Demonstrates a level of skill and consistency in the provision of high quality patient care.
Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to lift and manoeuvre 150 pounds with assistance and without difficulty.
  • The ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty and the ability to lift and carry 150 pounds up and down two flights of stairs with assistance and without difficulty.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to walk one quarter of a mile without difficulty and without affecting the immediate performance of job-related duties.

Each ambulance location will be headed by the doctor who should have training and relevant experience to allow him or her handle a wide range of pre-hospital conditions.

Credentials

Minimal requirements for Medical Doctors
  • Copy of Certificate of Board Certification by MDCN
  • Copy of university certificate
  • Copy of current practicing licence
  • Copy of Certificate for BLS,ACLS,ITLS,PHTLS,PALS and ATLS
Other Requirements - Minimum Requirements:
